Black Sunday: 18 people, including a pregnant lady, die in an auto crash in Ilorin

 


It was gathered that the accident which occurred along the Ilorin International Airport road at about 8:00 am, involved a commercial 14-seater passenger bus and a private vehicle.

The sources in the state command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) told Tribune online that the Lagos-bound passenger bus had loaded at the Gerin Alimi motor park, heading outwards the metropolis, when it rammed into the private vehicle. It is also reported that the bus contained petrol-filled kegs.

It is reported that only the driver of the commercial bus was able to escape as the passengers(majorly students affected by the ongoing ASUU strike) got burnt beyond recognition. It was also gathered that eight persons, however, survived the accident with multiple inju


ries.
